Yuthika Khanal, Grade : VIII
A well beginning of the year
Yuthika Khanal
Grade : VIII
Year 2074.
First day of the year, first Anniversary of Manjari Natak Ghar (MOKSHADA SCHOOL).
As it has been conducting dramas and plays every month at the very beginning (first day).
It completed a year in the same scale. A drama per month. Manjari Natak Ghar isn’t like other drama theatre, it is a bit different. The actors don’t prepare for the single act which will be shown that day.
Instead the audiences from the crowd share a story of their life which the actors perform then and there without any preparation and discussion. They make sure that they have included every single small detail so the particular person feels like he/she is reliving the moment. I am very glad that, I got to be a part of today’s show. I would also say that I was quite surprised that without any preparation, they performed so well.
The show started at 4:15 pm all the audiences were seated inside the big hall. People were chattering with each other till the curtains opened and actors came in. They introduced themselves and the audiences were requested to share the story they had. A person came forward and he recited his story.
He told everyone that “he is a science student and was in nagarkot a few years ago. It was the time of Tihar and he had been preparing paperworks for almost 6 months to use a special telescope. It had always been his dream and the time was finally there when he could use the telescope. As he looked through the telescope it felt like he was in heaven. The sky looked very dazzling”. As he remembered the story he had a small smile at his lips. Then he choosed the person among the actors who will be playing his role for drama. As he choosed, the drama started. The actors had performed amazingly the whole plot. The person thanked them and went back to his seat. As he had told the incident all I felt inside was that “Not all the people need to get or do something big to feel happy. Small things in life make us happy the most.”
After him a boy went to share his story. He told everyone that he got his hand fractured at the age of 8 and the mischief behind it was, that he and his sister were playing once near home; the game was to close the eyes, find the big hole in the ground and try not to fall in it. As they did so, they stumbled and fell into the pit and the brother somehow managed to get his arm broken. They didn’t think about that he might have hurt his hand bad. The sister convinced the brother not to tell anyone about the accident and the brother agreed. They went home and they didn’t tell anyone about anything. The days passed and the pain became unbearable. The parents took him to the doctor and the doctor said the broken bone was crooked but somehow managed itself so that it was attached again with the others. There was nothing the doctors could do, so he used some Ayurvedic medicine and it helped. The boy said that he regretted the decision about not telling their parents about the accident. He said that if he would have said to his parents at that time then his arm would be perfectly fine now.
The third was the story of a woman, who said that the incident happened when she was 20 years old. She was approached by a stranger for marriage. He had said that he had a job at India. The girl was very happy. They said they would run away from the village, get married and live a happy life. Everything was set. But when the day of running away the girl became sick; she got a high fever. Later she came to know that the person whom she was supposed to be married was a girl trafficker. He was just going to sell her as well. But it seem like the luck was in her side that day. She was safe because of a fever. At last She said that every girl in the world should be educated just to make sure she’s safe. And they should be able to clarify what kind of person it is before you start talking with him.
The fourth story was related to the disaster the occurred in baisakh 12, 2072. the person shared his experience when the earthquake hit us hard. He said that he was at home helping his wife with something when it suddenly started to shake very hard and his mind wasn’t able to contain what is happening. It stopped and he ran out with his kids and wife to a safe place. Thankfully no one got hurt in his family. As one day when he was reading a newspaper, he saw an article about a rich girl whose legs were taken away by the earthquake. She had said that she would give everything she had if her legs would work properly again. This made the man realize that maybe the girl didn’t knew the importance of her legs when they were working perfectly fine. So we should be satisfied with what we have and ask for no more.
The last incident was about the women’s and girls nature. One day a man was travelling in a bus. And some passengers (all women) got in. They were back from a picnic so they were laughing and talking to each other. When they came to a point they found out that there a bus had just hit a person on a cycle and the person was on the ground blooded everywhere. The victim was brought into the same bus and as soon the women saw him, they started crying. The man was shocked. He though that the women were laughing just a minute ago and now they are crying!
He realized that the girls/women can’t keep their emotion within them self and also have a soft heart.
The stories and the acting were definitely something I wouldn’t wanna miss on a new years day or any other day. The stories were good the acting was good and the concept was amazing. I wish Manjari Drama Theatre (MOKSHADA SCHOOL) its best and tell them to keep on entertaining the people like they do.

So many times I hurt you, With cruel words I'd say, You know I didn't mean them, And you love me anyway.
